Business days calculator
Pick a country and two dates to see how many working days lie between them. Weekends and that country's national holidays are removed for you, and both the first and the last date are counted.
What counts as a working day
We step through every date in the range once. A date is a working day unless it is one of the country's weekly rest days or a holiday observed nationwide. Holidays that apply only in some regions stay in the count as working days, because a nationwide figure cannot follow every local calendar at once.
Start and end dates are both included
If the range starts and ends on the same working day, the answer is one. That matches the way most notice periods and service levels are written. If your rule starts counting the day after an event, use add business days from that day instead.
Payroll systems may give a different answer
HR and payroll tools often add company rules on top of the national calendar, such as an end-of-year shutdown, a substitute day when a holiday falls on a Sunday, part-time patterns or regional holidays. This calculator gives the national baseline those rules start from.
